A wholesome town just outside of Queenstown.
A wholesome town just outside of Queenstown. I could've stayed here weeks. It was a great location to be based at for Roy's Peak Summit, more hiking and days spent by the lake. Wanaka itself is a lovely spot.
Wanaka itself is a lovely spot. It was lovely without being too much of a tourist trap. The art gallery I visited was very good, and the two local restaurants also good and reasonably priced. The staff at the Thai restaurant were especially friendly and helpful. I wish I had stayed long enough to drive out to a few places from Wanaka.AAnonymous

We booked, got the confirmation, left the area where we had internet coverage, drove to the hotel and opened the message that informed us that the hotel had double booked the room and we had no where to stay. It was 8 at night. Their only compromise was to offer us another option at almost double the price. It also became my job to go through booking.com to get a refund. Terrible experience with the hotel, especially when they had another place available that probably didn’t get rented out that night.
